Our Story

Jugni Store was started by former Miss India Universe finalist Gurbani Chopra, along with her mum Manjeet Chopra in 2016. Belonging to Ambala and living in Bangalore, they wanted to bridge the gap between North & South Indian attires by introducing phulkari and chikankari fusion wear. A very integral character in Punjabi folklore, Jugni or the firefly represents freedom, fearlessness, and radiance. Every person that adorns a piece of clothing from Jugni Store is another firefly lighting up the world, making it a more colourful, cheerful, and lit place. We work on bright hued fabrics with mesmerizing embroidery (phulkari & chikankari) done by the rural Punjabi & Lucknowi womenfolk along with a dash of sparkle in the form of sequins, gota, and mirrors. We derive a lot of inspiration from countries around the world in our designs to give Jugni a global touch while keeping its desi soul intact. If you are looking to turn a dull gloomy day into a joyous one, just put on a Jugni attire & glow away. :)
